The Finals' latest patch makes progression faster, stops corpses exploding
Feb-12-2024
This past week, The Finals received its update 1.7.0, rolling out a series of changes aimed at drastically improving the game's progression dynamics. Especially for players keen on acquiring skins and cosmetic items, moving up through the battle pass levels should now be noticeably quicker.
A set of adjustments has been made to substantially boost the XP gains from various in-game actions. Indeed, activities such as vault opening now reward players with 200 XP, a leap from the previous 100 XP, and successfully executing a cashout steal escalates the XP gain to 300 from a mere 100. Moreover, the game has been tweaked to modify XP rewards based on the team's final standing in each round, across first to fourth positions, in addition to significantly increasing the rewards from completing weekly contracts.
Another notable change is that the update temporarily removes the "Dead Go Boom" game show event from the game. This modifier, which added a twist by causing characters to explode shortly after their defeat in matches, was identified by the developers as overly punitive towards players preferring melee tactics. Expressing their commitment to balance, the developers have decided to pull back this feature for a reevaluation, with hopes to reintroduce it in a revised form in the foreseeable future.
