Telltale Says it “Can’t Give a Big Update Yet” on The Wolf Among Us 2

Since its re-announcement five years ago, enthusiasts of The Wolf Among Us 2 have been eagerly awaiting its release, which has, unfortunately, encountered numerous developmental challenges. Recently, after a prolonged period of minimal updates, Telltale Games released four new screenshots from the latest build of the game, signaling ongoing progress despite setbacks.

Telltale Games conveyed on their official forum that their focus remains steadfast on the development of The Wolf Among Us 2. They mentioned that their silence was due to their deep commitment to the game's development, although substantial updates are not ready to be shared at the moment. The provided screenshots are a small testament to the ongoing efforts of the development team.

Originally slated for a 2023 release, the launch was postponed to 2024 following Telltale’s decision to switch to Unreal Engine 5 in March of the previous year. It is unclear if the game will meet this new target date.

In addition, October saw the troubling news of significant staff layoffs at Telltale Games, which fueled concerns about the future of the game. Despite assurances that the game was still under production, laid-off employees revealed that a substantial portion of the development team had been affected, casting further doubt on the project’s progression.
